Brown Jets with a shoulder injury, Fant starts LT

FLORHAM PARK, NJ (Associated Press) – Duane Brown will miss the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens with a shoulder injury that could keep him out of action for at least a few weeks.

Coach Robert Saleh announced on Friday that the team was still gathering medical information on Brown’s shoulder, but conceded there was a chance the 37-year-old attacker could end up in the injured reserve. This will sideline him in at least four matches.

George Vant will slide from right to left and start Sunday at Brown’s place. Rookie Max Mitchell, a fourth-round draft pick, will start from the right tackle.

“He went to the left side this week,” Saleh said. “It makes it very easy for that transition to happen.”

Saleh said he believed Brown was injured in practice on Monday. After a day off, Brown didn’t train Wednesday or Thursday — and he wasn’t at the facility on Thursday during the training session because he was having his shoulder evaluation.
