QB1 won? Steelers picks newcomer co-captain Trubisky

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Mike Tomlin isn’t quite ready to publicly wipe Mitch Trubesky as the Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback.

And Trubsky is not.

“The announcement will be made when it needs to be disclosed,” Trubesky said Monday. “You won’t hear it from me.”

Needless, not after his Trubisky teammates effectively announced it on Monday when they selected him as one of five co-leaders.

“I think he’s just a guy people get wrapped up in,” said Trubisky’s defensive therapist Cam Heyward, who arrived at a free agency in March. “It’s all about the team. He’s been so accepted. He understands that and Coach T says, he carries our hopes and dreams into every game.”
