The San Jose Sharks He signed Evgeny Svechnikov primarily to help affiliates of the American Hockey League, and not the parent club.

Previous sharks fell red wings Svechnikov player into a two-way contract. The deal pays him $750,000 if he plays in San Jose. His salary is $350,000 if he plays for the San Jose Barracuda.

Peng’s analysis is that Svechnikov will be Barracuda’s highest-paid player and that he was brought in because new general manager Mike Grier wants to create a highly competitive AHL team with a winning culture.
